Exploring Energy Demand Dynamics
Friday, 12th April 2024
Technische Universität Dresden, Dresden, Germany
The upcoming 18th ENERDAY is focused on the topic “Exploring Energy Demand Dynamics” which relates to various aspects of the demand side: the overall development of energy demand in different sectors and various energy sources is of interest, as is the need for flexibility on the demand side and its impact on the energy system. Increasing flexibility on the demand side contributes to integrating renewable energies and is a prerequisite for well-functioning future energy markets. This includes short-term price response of demand as well as the necessary expansion of the digital infrastructure. Energy efficiency and sufficiency further underscore the discourse on the demand side, promoting more efficient resource utilization and facilitating a transition toward sustainable practices.

Evening Events
In the spirit of its long-standing tradition, the conference provides a platform for sharing experiences and engaging in discussion with international representatives from science, industry and politics on current topics in the field of energy economics and technology. Since the ENERDAY should also be a suitable framework for social and scientific exchange, we offer the opportunity to participate in a pre-conference dinner (11th April, 2024) and/or a gala-dinner (12th April, 2024), which are covered by the conference fees. In order to avoid subsequent organisational inconveniences, we kindly ask you to announce your participation already during the registration process. You can select either both, only one or no event in which you plan to participate.
Call for Papers
For the 18th ENERDAY we seek papers that address the challenges and opportunities presented by the current energy crisis, and how it is influencing our future energy system (Call for Papers).
The ENERDAY 2024 addresses challenges concerning energy systems, markets and policies, with a particular focus on “Energy Demand Dynamics”. Empirical analysis, fundamental modelling approaches, best practice examples, policy, and market design, and technologies are of interest. Particular emphasis is put on intensifying the dialogue regarding economic and technical issues and perceptions. You are cordially invited to submit a contribution, and we are looking forward to a fruitful discussion. Contributions may be theoretical or of an applied nature and may address the following topics:
I. Cross-sectoral focus |
II. Sector-specific focus |
